The Deployment Manager is a feature within Building BI that enables you manage and deploy dashboards across multiple buildings.
Note: Only users with the Sync / Bulk Deploy permission can:
Access the Deployment Manager.
Deploy dashboards to multiple sites.
Manage both predefined and custom views.
To open the Deployment Manager,
In the portfolio view of Building BI, select Deployment Manager from the left navigation bar. The Deployment Manager page appears.
The Deployment Manager list displays the following columns of information:
Deployment Name: The name given to the specific deployment.
Dashboard: The name of the dashboard that was deployed.
Deployment Description: A brief description of the deployment's purpose.
Status: The current status of the deployment, indicating if it is Completed, Failed, or In progress. A Completed status shows that the dashboard was successfully deployed to its target buildings.
Building: The building or site to which the dashboard was deployed.
Deployed to: The number of buildings to which the dashboard has been deployed.
The list makes it easy to periodically review deployments to ensure they are still relevant.
At the end of each row, the three dots menu contains options for managing the deployment.
View Details: Opens a view with more information about the deployment, including the specific buildings it was sent to.
Edit: Allows you to modify the deployment settings.
Delete: Removes the deployment from the list.
The page also includes a search bar to help you quickly find a specific deployment by name, a Building dropdown to filter by location,
and a New Deployment button to initiate a new deployment process.

A Custom view is a local, editable version of a predefined dashboard.
Open a predefined dashboard on a specific site.
Click Edit.
When prompted, select Customize Dashboard.
A Custom chip appears, and the dashboard becomes editable only for that site.
Deployed dashboards have two distinct tracks: Predefined and Custom. These tracks determine how a dashboard behaves and how it receives updates.
The Predefined view is the governed, portfolio-controlled version of a dashboard. It is automatically synchronized whenever a new version is published.
The Custom view is a local, editable version of a dashboard that is created for a specific site. It is not affected by updates to the predefined version.
This allows users to create tailored configurations for individual buildings without losing the ability to restore to the main, predefined version if needed.
A custom dashboard can be saved as a draft or published, and can be set as the default view for a site.
When using the bulk deploy feature, following a few guidelines can help ensure smooth rollouts and maintain data integrity across your portfolio.
Before you deploy: Always ensure that your dashboard is thoroughly tested and clean before you deploy it. A mass rollback of a broken or incomplete dashboard can be time-consuming and disruptive.
Use Collections: For optimal organization and efficiency, use collections to group related dashboards. This allows you to deploy multiple related views in a single action, streamlining the process for administrators and users.
Limit Custom views: The ability to create custom views is a powerful feature, but it should be used judiciously. Restrict the creation of custom views to only the cases where site-specific changes are truly needed. This helps prevent dashboard sprawl and keeps your portfolio more consistent and manageable.
