PDF Exports & Scheduled PDF reports in Building BI

With PDF Export and Scheduled PDF Reports in the Building BI module, you can easily share insights and automate reporting.

  • PDF Export allows you to generate high-quality PDFs of your dashboards in just a few clicks—perfect for quick sharing and documentation.

  • Scheduled PDF Reports let you set up automated reports that are delivered straight to your inbox, ensuring you always have the latest data without any extra effort.

Both features are accessible from the three-dot menu in the dashboard header, helping you save time and maintain consistent, professional reports with ease.

What is PDF Export?

PDF Export lets users generate a high-quality snapshot of their dashboard with one click, ensuring reports match the on-screen view. Users can export all or specific pages while preserving applied filters.

Key Features

  • Exact Dashboard Replication – Capture a precise PDF version.

  • Page Selection – Export all or selected pages.

  • Filter Preservation – Apply current filter settings to the report.

How to Use

  1. Open your dashboard.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the header.

  3. Select PDF Export and set preferences.

  4. Click Export to download your PDF.

This feature streamlines reporting, ensuring consistency and ease of sharing.

How to export a PDF

  1. Open a Dashboard

    • Navigate to the dashboard you want to export.

  2. Click the three-dot menu in the dashboard header

    • Select Export from the dropdown.

  3. Configure Export Settings

    • A modal will appear where you can:

      • Set the file name

      • Choose All Pages or Select Pages.

      • Enable/disable Export data with current filter modifications.

  4. Export the PDF

    • Click Export, and the system will begin generating the file.

    • Once the file is processed, it will automatically download to the user’s computer.

NotesNOTE: The processing time for generating and downloading a PDF depends on the dashboard's size and complexity. Factors like the number of pages, the amount of data and widgets, and the complexity of visual elements can impact the speed. Larger dashboards with more pages, widgets, and data will take longer to process as the system compiles and renders everything in the background before starting the download.

Scheduled PDF Reports

The Scheduled PDF Reports feature allows you to automate sending dashboard reports as PDFs to email recipients regularly. This means you no longer need to export reports manually each time.

Here's how it works:

  • Name: This is the title of your scheduled report. It will be used to identify the report in the Schedule Log and will also be the name of the file in the email.

  • Pages: You can select whether to export all pages (default) or specific pages from the dashboard.

  • Export Filters: If you check this option, any filter modifications applied at the time of scheduling will be included in the exported PDF.

  • Frequency: Choose how often you want the report to be sent—either Daily, Weekly (with specific days), or Monthly. You must select a frequency to continue.

  • Start Date & Time: This is when the first report will be sent. Just set a date and time, and it will be sent automatically at that time.

  • Recipients: Only KODE Labs account users can receive these reports.

  • End Date: You can choose whether the report ends after a specific date or continues indefinitely.

This feature helps you set up recurring reports, saving time and ensuring that important data is always sent on schedule.

How to schedule a report:

  1. Open a Dashboard

    • Go to the dashboard where you want to schedule.

    • Click the three-dot menu in the header and select Schedule PDF Report.

  2. Set Scheduling Details

    • Name: Title of the report.

    • Pages: Choose all or specific pages.
