Devices - Batch Update

Devices - Batch Update

The purpose of tagging is to correctly assign the appropriate components to each piece of equipment. Follow the below steps to tag your devices.

  1. Navigate to a building of your choice through the Sites feature in the left navigation bar.

  2. Click on Devices and the list of devices of that building will show up.

  3. Click on Batch Update Devices button on your top right corner.

Select a group of devices. You can search for devices by name using the search bar or refine your selection using filters like Type, Ontology, Area, or Datasources.

Clicking on the "More" filter will display a list of options, including Origin Type, Point Count, and Quick Filters, which allow you to easily narrow down and select the devices you're interested in.

Once you've selected the options you need from all the drop down menus, click on Batch Update on the bottom right corner, you have now tagged your devices!

Notes
Note: Selecting multiple VAVs, AHUs, Electrical Meters at a time speeds up tagging since they typically have the same or similar components.

Reorganized Module for Deployment Pages

Deployment-related pages, such as Devices Batch Update, Device Referencing, Virtual Devices, and Linked Devices are now grouped together in the left panel for easier and more seamless access. This update simplifies navigation, allowing you to efficiently manage deployment tasks from a central location.

Adding Ontology type

In order to add an ontology type you must select devices and click on Apply Template (Points) option placed on the bottom right corner. From there, a page with all ontology types will appear and you can continue to Device Templating.

Last Updated filter

On the "Devices - Batch Update" page you can filter the devices that got updated from the Device Discovery page so you can pick those and continue with further updates.

This filter on the Devices Batch Update page will filter the devices based on the last updated time on device discovery. So if you updated devices on Device Discovery today, you can filter by today’s date to see those devices.

Delete button

After selecting the devices you want to delete, click the Delete option at the bottom right to remove the selected devices.

Find & Replace Functionality

The "Find & Replace" tool allows you to quickly replace existing device names with new ones. Simply enter the text you want to replace in the "Find" field and the replacement text in the "Replace" field. This feature helps you standardize device names efficiently, saving time and ensuring consistency across your site.

Apply Graphics

After selecting the devices you want to apply graphics to, click the Apply Graphics option at the bottom right to choose either the old graphics or new graphics.

Properties

On the left side of the Device - Batch Update page, clicking a small arrow will open a window called Properties. Here, you can select options like Device Type, Area, Tags, Location, Device Class, Tenant, Zone, and enable Site Level.
