Adding buildings to your KODE OS portfolio enables you to manage your properties effectively within Launchpad. This tutorial walks you through the steps to add a new building, ensuring all necessary information is entered correctly.
Ready to expand your portfolio? Follow these instructions to add your first building.
Begin by navigating to the Buildings section in Launchpad, then go to the page for adding a new building.
In Launchpad, select Buildings from the sidebar. The Buildings List appears, displaying all published and unpublished buildings, including their address, time zone, and enabled products.
Click the + Add Building button. The Add Building page appears.
Complete the general information for your new building. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
Fill in the following fields:
Building Name*
Year Constructed
Area ft²*
Type* (select from options like Office, Industrial, Retail, etc.)
Number of Floors
Base Temperature*
Temperature Unit* (select Fahrenheit or Celsius)
Enter the complete address details for the building. Ensure accuracy, especially for fields that auto-fill.
Address*
Street*
City*
State*
Country*
Zip*
Address Line 2 (optional)
After entering all the required information, save the building to add it to your portfolio.
Click Save.
The new building is automatically set to Unpublished status. This means only users with Super Admin roles can view it, according to default permissions.
You have successfully added a new building to your KODE OS portfolio. The building is now listed in Launchpad, ready for further configuration.
