Grant building access

Assigning users to specific buildings within Cloud BMS is crucial for controlling access to building data and features. This tutorial outlines the steps for administrators to assign a KODE OS user to a designated building.

Follow these instructions to configure user access for your buildings.

1) Navigate to Users

Begin by opening the Users section in Launchpad and selecting the user you want to assign to a building.

  1. In Launchpad, click Users in the sidebar. The Users page appears, displaying a list of all users.

  2. Select the user you want to assign to a building from the list. The user's account details appear.

2) View user details and app assignments

From the user's details page, navigate to the Apps section to manage their application assignments.

  • In the Apps section, locate the KODE OS entry and click the Assign App button next to it. The Assign App pop-up window appears.

3) Assign user roles in KODE OS

In the Assign App pop-up window, select the appropriate role for the user within KODE OS.

  1. From the User Role dropdown list, select the desired role for the user in KODE OS.

  2. Click Assign. The user is now assigned to KODE OS, and an email notification is sent to them.

4) Assign buildings to the user

After assigning the user to KODE OS, specify which buildings they can access within Cloud BMS.

  1. In the Portfolio view, select Settings > Users. The users list appears.

  2. Select a user. The User Details page appears.

  3. Click the Buildings tab. The list of buildings assigned to the user appears.

  1. Click the + Assign Buildings button. The Assign Buildings pop-up window appears, listing available buildings.

  2. Select the checkbox next to each building you want to assign to the user.

  1. Click Save.

The user now has access to the selected buildings within Cloud BMS based on their assigned role.
