Tutorial: Get started: Activate your KODE OS account and explore Launchpad

Welcome to KODE OS!

This tutorial helps new users activate their accounts, set up their passwords, and sign in to Launchpad for the first time. Launchpad serves as the central hub for KODE OS, providing access to all features and management tools.

Ready to begin? Follow these steps to activate your account and start exploring.

1) Activate your account via email

Locate the activation email sent to you with instructions to set up your account. This email contains a unique link to begin the password creation process.

Click the Set Password button in the email. This action opens the Set your password page in your web browser.

2) Create your secure password

On the Set your password page, create a new password for your KODE OS account. Your password must meet specific security requirements to ensure the protection of your account.

  1. In the Enter Password field, type your new password.

  2. In the Confirm Password field, retype your new password to confirm it.

  3. Click Set Password.


3) Sign in to Launchpad for the first time

After successfully setting your password, the Login page appears. You can now sign in to your KODE OS Launchpad using your newly created credentials.

Your workspace URL typically follows the format: yourcompanyname.kodelabs.com.

  1. In the Email* field enter your email address.

  2. In the Password* field enter your new password.

  3. Click Login with Email.

If you belong to multiple organizations, you can select the desired instance after your initial login. All instances are accessible via the same username and password.

4) Navigate the Launchpad Home page

After signing in, the Launchpad Home page appears, providing an overview of your KODE OS environment. 

The Home page is organized into three main sections to help you navigate and access key information.

  • Sidebar: Use the sidebar to navigate to different sections of Launchpad, including Buildings, Apps, Users, Sign in Methods, Security Settings, Authentication Logs, Service Accounts, and Company Profile. You can also return to the Home page from here.

  • Overview: Displays various metrics such as the number of buildings and user accounts, total integrated square footage, and \

  • Sign In Activity.

  • User Admin: Located in the upper-right corner, the User Admin section enables you to edit your user profile, manage your account settings, and log out of Launchpad.

What you've accomplished

You have successfully activated your KODE OS account and performed your first login to Launchpad. You are now familiar with the basic navigation of the Home page. Your account is ready for use, and you can begin managing your buildings and users.
