Buildings

Navigate to the "Building" page from the Settings menu. Use the search bar to find your building or manually browse through the list. Click on the building name to access other information.

Explore the "Details'' tab to find the building's name, address, construction year, and category.
 


Navigate to the "Areas'' tab to view different sections of the building. Check parking levels, floors, and the number of devices assigned to each area.
  


Go to the "Users'' tab to see a list of users with access to the KODE OS. To assign or unassign users, click on "Assign Users'' and check/uncheck the relevant users and click on Save changes.


Go to the "Files" tab to find files related to the building. View creation logs, file types, and sizes. 




Users

While user management is handled primarily through Launchpad, KODE OS also allows you to add and manage new users.

Adding Users

You can add a user from KODE OS by following these steps:


  1. Go to Settings module from the left main navigation bar

  2. From the left side menu select Users

  3. Click on Add New User button at the bottom right of the page



On the Add User page, fill out the information below:

  1. User First and Last Name

  2. Email

  3. Position and Phone Number (optional)

  4. User Role

  5. Assign Buildings

Edit User Details

You can edit or remove a user by following the steps below:

  • Go to Settings module from the left main navigation bar

  • From the left side menu click on Users

  • Search and select the user you want to edit or remove

  • Click on the Edit User button to edit user details (First and Last Name, Position, Phone, Role) or Remove User from the Platform.


Assign/Unassigned users to Buildings

From the last tab at the Admin Settings go to Buildings Tab next to the Details Tab > To assign or unassign the user, click on "Assign Buildings and check/uncheck the relevant users and click on Save changes.            




Devices Types and Units

Device Type

Navigate to the Devices Types page to view all associated devices in your buildings. Sort the devices alphabetically by clicking on this button.



Add/edit and remove “Device type”
  •      Click on the "Add type" button.

  •      Enter the name of the new type.

  •      Click "Save" to create and save the new device type.



  • Go to the "type" and hover on the three dots.

  • Click on the Edit/Delete

  • Click "Save" to create/edit and save the new device type.


Units


KODE OS makes managing units for different devices easy with its Units module. Whether you're dealing with sound, temperature, or other aspects, this guide will help you navigate the basics.

Go to the Units module in the Settings bar of KODE OS. Click on "Units" to enter.



Inside the Units module, you'll see all the categories that are created, like sound or temperature etc. For example in the Sound category, you'll find unit details like name (e.g., decibel), symbol (e.g., dbA), and keywords (e.g., sound, decibel, COV tol, precision).


Devices Tag

Access the "Tag" Page through the Settings menu to view, search, add, edit, and delete tags, with each tag displaying its description for easy management.



Adding “Tag”

Clicking the "+Add Tag" button will  pop-up a window where users can create a new tag by filling in mandatory name and description fields, and once created, the new tag will be added to the tag list.

To edit/delete a tag user has to hover over one tag and click on three dot buttons, there will appear edit tag and delete tag buttons, from there you can make any modification or delegation and by clicking Save they will be saved.



Events

Access the "Event" Page through the Settings menu to view, search, add, edit, and delete Events.



The Event page is divided into two distinct sections: Classes and Types.

Classes

In this page you can create Class Events,  Event Class is a grouping of similar type events related to specific buildings or equipment. Consider, for example, a security team in a building that needs notifications for CCTV or access control equipment. In such cases, an Event Class can be established with a name, and users designated to receive notifications from the Event module can be specified.

Adding an “Event Class”

To add an Event Class, click on the "+Add Event Class" button on the right.

This action opens a pop-up window where you can input details such as the Event Class name, description, user roles for event priorities, and settings for warning and alert boxes. Once the necessary information is entered, click save to create the Event Class.

Edit and remove “Classes of Events”

Click on the three dots next to the category or a specific unit to add, edit, or delete Events.

Types

In this section, you'll find all the event types already created on your Kode OS platform. Hovering over the right side of each event type allows you to either edit or delete the respective event type.
