Attachment Best Practices - MEPs, IP Lists, Network Risers


Every myMSI project includes an attachments tab. This tab allows you to store various project collateral, information and documentation so that it can be referenced later. The attachments tab allows you to upload any file type and set an unlimited number of folders in which to organize the documentation.

Here is a starting guide of what we find to be the best way to organize our attachments:

Architecturals

Technical drawing showing the architectural build of the building/area


BIM

3D CAD model of the building (if applicable)




Area Graphics




Floorplan - Lvl 1...Roof

SVG drawings of the different floor plans of the building, which will be used on KODE OS to display physical device placements


System Diagram

SVG drawings of larger mechanical systems which will be used on KODE OS to display mechanical component placements 




MEPs




Mechanical

Technical drawing showing the installation/layout of the mechanical equipment planned to go into the site.


Single Line

Symbolic representation of power delivery across the building with the various electrical components displayed (ex. metering)


Plumbing

Technical drawing showing the installation/layout of the plumbing equipment planned to go into the site




Controls




Shop drawings

A drawing/document indicating the expected installation, configuration and specifications of the HVAC Controls equipment


Product Manuals

Product information for all the HVAC controls equipment being installed on site


Network Riser

Document showing how HVAC controls will communicate with each other, what any network configurations (IPs, MACs, etc.) are, and how the system will communicate with the final control software




Lighting




Shop drawings

A drawing/document indicating the expected installation, configuration and specifications of the lighting equipment


API Docs or Points lists of Controllers

Documentation (whether API or direct points list) showing the exact data points the system will surface


Network Riser

Document showing how lighting equipment will communicate with each other, what any network configurations (IPs, MACs, etc.) are, and how the system will communicate with the final control software

Deployment Drawings

A drawing/document indicating the expected installation, configuration and specifications of the system equipment


API Docs or Points lists of Controllers (if applicable)

Documentation (whether API or direct points list) showing the exact data points the system will surface


Product Manuals

Product information for all the equipment being installed on site


*A folder per system being installed, that contains the various documentation that outlines the system’s deployment and data specifications. Examples of systems include access control, CCTV, Occupancy, Fire, Generators, etc.
